The city of Stroud is working with the Lincoln County Commissioner District #1 to apply for the Industrial Road Access Program for the Stroud Midway3 Railway Industrial Park, located on 51.99 developable acres owned by the Stroud Industrial Authority. This industrial park is strategically located adjacent to the Stillwater Central Railroad (SLWC) and offers easy access to Interstate 44 (Turner Turnpike) between Oklahoma City and Tulsa (east and west) and Stillwater and Shawnee along Highway 99 (north and south).
Construction consultants Gateway Services Group, LLC. and Watco Stillwater Central Railroad have actively contributed to the Stroud Midway3 Railway Industrial Park architectural design that was previously completed by the City of Stroud and the Stroud Industrial Authority. Once construction is finalized, the industrial park will meet or exceed the minimum for a general industrial park with a total acreage of 51.99. Based on the adjacent 85 acres, the rail spur has the potential to expand to a 136.99-acre industrial park.
The final construction-ready project will include plans for two industrial warehouses with railway and truck access, two railway spurs, seven railway switches, three 10-acre lots available for purchase, aggregate laydown yard, aggregate transload track, external security fencing, and security camera systems.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (2018-2020 State Railroad Map), this project would be the only combined railway transload facility and railway industrial business park in the state of Oklahoma, attracting new businesses and increasing expansion opportunities for existing businesses.
