The Town of Wellston has been awarded the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Grant Program. It is important to the Town of Wellston, Wellston Board members, and the Project management Team that recognition is made that this project is made possible by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Grant, and the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Commissioners.

Authority:
The legislation establishing the Oklahoma Route 66 Commission; 74 O.S. §§ 5001 et seq.;
68 O.S. § 2357.105, 69 O.S., § 4041 (C).
Procurement of goods and services and the management and disposition of personal property acquired with contract funds shall be governed by the principles of the Oklahoma Central Purchasing Act, 74 O.S. 85.1, et seq., and ODOC policy. All project budget items over $25,000.01 will be included in the competitive bid process.

A Performance Bond is required with this project.
Important! If the required attachments are not included with your competitive bid, your competitive bid will be considered incomplete and will not be considered.
The Town of Wellston will be developing the Wellston Route 66 Splashpad and Majestic Buffalo funded by the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Grant. Therefore, all competitive bids should be thorough and accurate.
There is no additional funding for this project, therefore, change orders should not be a part of a competitive bid strategy.
The Wellston Project Management Team is not looking for the lowest bid, instead the team will make recommendations to the Wellston Board Members based on a variety of factors provided in the bid packet – experience, cost to completion, and accuracy.

It is important to note that the Wellston Route 66 Splashpad and Majestic Buffalo has been and is expected to be a collaborative community effort to bring a community park to Oklahoma Route 66 in the Town of Wellston.

Construction Area - Approximately .77 acres.
Construction Activity includes Parking Spaces, a Trading Post, a Pavilion, Bathroom Facilities, Exterior Lighting, Walking Path, and Ground Covering (not associated with Splashpad).
Construction Specifics:
Trading Post - Construction of a 40 ft x 50 ft trading post with a covered porch. Trading posts will need electricity, plumbing, mini split ad/heat, and public bathrooms.
Pavilion - Construction of a 40 ft x 50 ft pavilion. The expectations are to level the base surface, concrete slab, pavilion, and ceiling fans.
Note: Trading Post and Pavilion should be complimentary design styles.
Exterior Light Poles - Installation of exterior light poles that provide full lighting of the entire park area.
Walking Path - Installation of a walking path around the new community park.
Ground Covering - Installation of concrete or rubberized materials. The Town of Wellston does not want any landscaping to maintain or to clog the splashpad. Ground covering should allow for easy transition between walking path, splash zone, and the rest of the park making it handicap accessible for all ages.

StoryBook Walk (walking path) approximately 599 linear feet, Pavilion 40 x 50, Trading Post with Public Restrooms 40 x 50.
