The Town of Wellston has been awarded the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Grant Program. It is important to the Town of Wellston, Wellston Board members, and the Project management Team that recognition is made that this project is made possible by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Grant, and the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Commissioners.

Authority:
The legislation establishing the Oklahoma Route 66 Commission; 74 O.S. §§ 5001 et seq.;
68 O.S. § 2357.105, 69 O.S., § 4041 (C).
Procurement of goods and services and the management and disposition of personal property acquired with contract funds shall be governed by the principles of the Oklahoma Central Purchasing Act, 74 O.S. 85.1, et seq., and ODOC policy. All project budget items over $25,000.01 will be included in the competitive bid process.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Town of Wellston invites competitive bids from experienced artisans to provide services for the Town of Wellston to complete the Majestic Buffalo artistic vision, creation, engineering, and installation on the Wellston Route 66 Splashpad and Majestic Buffalo tourist park, funded by the Oklahoma Route 66 Revitalization Grant.
Submission Details:
Sealed bids must be submitted to the Wellston Grant Administrator/Project Manager no later than 5:00 PM (CST) on Monday, June 2, 2025, through the online application process. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Size of Buffalo:
The Wellston Town Board unanimously voted to send out a competitive bid for a 27-foot Majestic Buffalo to be installed at the new Wellston Rt. 66 Splash Pad and Majestic Buffalo Park. The following measurements have been calculated for the 27-foot Majestic Buffalo.
27 ft (324 ins.) Tall
39.4 ft (473 ins.) Long
18.83 ft (166 ins.) Wide
The Town of Wellston is selecting an artisan who will be responsible for designing, creating, engineering, delivering, and installing the 27-foot bison sculpture. This includes constructing the base support structure with engineered footings and all necessary anchoring systems to ensure safe and secure installation.

Engineering and Installation Requirements
There is no additional funding for this project, therefore, change orders should not be a part of a competitive bid strategy.
The Wellston Board is not looking for the lowest but the best bid to ensure this majestic project is completed!
A Performance Bond is required for this project.
Important! If the required attachments are not included with your competitive bid, your competitive bid will be considered incomplete and will not be considered.
The Town of Wellston will accept multiple bids from the same artisan.

The Town of Wellston is looking for artistic creatitivity in the creation of a Majestic Buffalo as the official photo opportunity of the new Wellston Route 66 Splash Pad and Majestic Buffalo.
Majestic Buffalo - The Town of Wellston is seeking an artisian who can design, build, and install a 27 ft Tall, 40 ft Long, and 14 ft Wide Buffalo. Please note this will be the largest buffalo in the United States.
